Juvenile Delinquency

Juvenile Delinquency is the term used to describe antisocial and sometimes criminal behaviour carried out by young people. Many factors can contribute to delinquency, such as an abusive home, poor parent-to-child communication and negative peer pressure.

Delinquency may be avoided:
  •  if struggling parents receive counselling or training
  • if a child experiences a loving and nurturing environment
  • if after-school facilities are provided and
  • if young people are engaged  in positive activities
